Celtic need to make additions in a number of positions across the pitch this summer. Two arrivals are already set, with Kieran Tierney and Ross Doohan agreeing pre-contract deals with the club. But a lot more is needed in this transfer window. Out of nowhere, a versatile Inter Milan player now appears to have emerged on the radar of the Scottish champions.

Celtic need to add an option on the wings with Jota set to remain out of action for potentially the rest of the year with an injury, while speculation about Nicolas Kuhn joining Brentford are picking up pace. Could one of Alistair Johnston's Canadian international teammates be a solution for the Hoops?

Rumours doing the rounds online are that Celtic have an eye on Tajon Buchanan. It remains to be seen how accurate the speculation is.

Buchanan is an Inter Milan player. The Italian club signed him from Club Brugge in early 2024 for a €10 million transfer package. His stint has not gone well though and he spent the second half of last season on loan at Villarreal.

It is believed that Villarreal have a €13 million buyout clause in the deal for Buchanan. But they are not expected to take it up, as the Canadian made most of his appearances for them off the bench and was not a regular starter.

Now, we have seen Buchanan struggle to establish himself in both Serie A and La Liga. Perhaps it is time for a change of scenery and Celtic can provide him with that.

There is no doubt about his pedigree. Not only has he played for clubs like Inter Milan and Villarreal but also has 46 international caps for Canada to his name as well. Of course, a lot will depend on what kind of transfer fee will be required to bring him to Parkhead. A loan deal could be a solution as well.
