There is a lot more positivity around Celtic at the moment but one cannot forget that Wilfried Nancy has still won just one out of his five games since taking over as the club's manager. The mood might be positive following the win against Aberdeen but the pressure will be right back on if the Hoops fail to get all three points this weekend.

Standing in their way is an away test against Livingston. The home team sit bottom of the Premiership table. But games like these can often turn out to be tricky ones, especially if you don't get that early goal.

Eyes are always on the selection decisions that Nancy makes and he has made a bold call against Livingston. Kasper Schmeichel has not just been dropped, but he has been left out of the matchday squad altogether.

That is a decision that has gone down well with a large section of the support, who have been calling for Viljami Sinisalo to be made the starter for quite some time now. Schmeichel has not looked anywhere near his best for several months now and it was about time that the Danish legend was dropped, despite the experience he brings to the side.

'Injured?' - Celtic fans react to Wilfried Nancy's bold decision

One Celtic fan wrote when the line-up was announced: "Is Schmeichel injured? Not even on the bench? Huge call but correct one for me. Great opportunity for Sinisalo to put a case to be No1."

Another fan said: "Schmeichal being dropped is well overdue he’s been awful since end last season! A solid performance and Sinisalo keeps the gloves."

Sinisalo has certainly deserved this chance for a while now. He has rarely put a foot wrong when on the pitch but has constantly found himself behind an underperforming Schmeichel in the pecking order.

Schmeichel is not even on the bench though. So, one has to wonder whether he has picked up some sort of injury. If so, then this could turn out to be a decision out of necessity instead of one made by the manager in recognition that the veteran goalkeeper needed to be dropped.

Celtic fans did not agree with every decision made by Nancy on the day, as you would have expected. Johnny Kenny retaining his place as a starter is one of them, but then again, it's not like the manager has a lot of options to pick from.
