Let's be honest, Celtic have had bad transfer windows before. But this summer, it felt different. Even by the Hoops' standards, this was nowhere near the mark. Not only did the club fail to make significant additions but they also allowed key starters to leave, without replacing them. The most confusing of these exits was that of Adam Idah, whose departure was sanctioned on deadline day with a replacement lined up. It just did not make any sense.

Unsurprisingly, fans were not happy with the club's transfer strategy. And a lot of questions have been raised in the aftermath of this terrible summer transfer window.

The fans were seeking answers to some of these queries. An open letter was sent to the club earlier this week that had requested answers to seven key questions, with fan media, supporters groups and fan organisations all uniting in these cause.

These questions were related to long-term footballing strategy, lack of investment in critical positions despite repeated pleas from the manager, accountability for repeated failures, intent to modernise the club's structure and more. Well, the Hoops have released an official statement today in reply to those queries. But it is safe to say that that did not meet the expectations of a large section of the fans and it did not seem to answer most of the queries that had been raised.

Green Brigade have now reacted to this statement from the club with one of their own. They described it as 'insulting' and claimed that "these questions, and those asking them, have been ignored."

It remains to be seen where things go from here. It is very clear that the supporters are not satisfied with the statement that the club have come out with in response to the open letter.

Of course, with the international break going on right now, this issue cannot be swept under the carpet due to a matchday either. So, let's see how things unfold.
