The last few days have been all about negative news surrounding Celtic and the board after the end to what might have been the worst summer transfer window the club's history. And it is not hard to understand why the fans are unhappy with how things have turned out. They have every right to be and it remains to be seen if this brings about any positive change in the future or not.

But just to change the pace a bit, there is some interesting news coming out of the film industry, out of all places. It looks like a former Celtic player is set to make his acting debut pretty soon.

Mick McCarthy did not have a long spell at Celtic, only spending two years with the club. But he was able to win three trophies for the Hoops during that spell. He has managed a long list of clubs, and even the Republic of Ireland national team, during his time in coaching.

McCarthy has been out of coaching since 2023 but will be seen back in the dugout on the silver screen next. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he is set to make his acting debut in an upcoming film called Dirty Rush. He will be portraying the role of a non-league manager.

Of course, football has been featured in a number of movies over the years. Often it does not turn out well, but then there are rare occasions when they become classic films. Goal, Green Street and Shaolin Soccer are a few names that come to mind immediately in this regard. Let's see if Dirty Rush can join them.

McCarthy certainly seems excited by the project. While speaking on talkSPORT, he said:

"I’m not messing around at it. I wouldn’t say ‘Yes, I’ll come and do it ‘ and then not do it properly. If I’m in it, I’m in it 100 per cent.”

“Why wouldn’t I do it? I’m playing a manager who is going to have someone who has a few problems and I’m going to have to help him out."

Well, we can only wish McCarthy the best of luck in this new project. Hopefully, it turns out to be a brilliant movie.
