Ange Postecoglou won five trophies during his two seasons at Celtic and knew nothing but success. After spending almost the same amount of time with Tottenham Hotspur, the picture has been very different for the Australian manager. As things stand, the Spurs find themselves sitting at 15th in the Premier League table and based on current form, it would not come as a surprise if they slip down to 17th by the time the campaign comes to an end.

Of course, this is a major blow to Postecoglou's reputation as a manager. Things had started well for him at Tottenham but have been on a downward trajectory for a long time now. There is a very genuine possibility that he will be sacked in the summer.

Spurs still have the Europa League to play for. If they are able to win that competition, Postecoglou might end up remaining as the club's manager. But all things considered, chances of that happening seem slim.

If Postecoglou does end up leaving Tottenham in the summer, who will be the one replacing him? There seem to be two frontrunners for the job at the moment. And one of them is a former Celtic managerial target.

Back in the 20/21 season, when Celtic were struggling, there were two standout names that had emerged as favourites to replace Neil Lennon. Obviously, the first was Eddie Howe. The second one, behind the Englishman, was Marco Silva.

The following summer, Silva ended up getting the Fulham job. Since then, he has enhanced his reputation as a manager and looks to be on the verge of a big move.

Silva is one of the frontrunners to become the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur if Postecoglou is shown the exit door. The other one is Andoni Iraola of Bournemouth.
