As we head towards the end of the 24/25 season and the beginning of the summer transfer window, there is a lot of speculation about what Celtic are planning to do. Their shaky form has meant that the Hoops are expected to bring in new players to freshen up what is starting to feel like a stagnant squad. But at the same time, it will be important to keep the core of their team together.

One signing that Celtic are guaranteed to make next summer is Kieran Tierney. The Arsenal left-back has already put pen to paper on a pre-contract and will be making his long-awaited return to Parkhead when his deal with the London club runs out at the end of the ongoing season.

That has led to doubts about the future of Greg Taylor, though. The Scottish international is now widely expected to leave with the impending arrival of Tierney believed to be one of the major reasons behind that.

That is a possibility that the situation could evolve though, especially with Dinamo Zagreb parting ways with manager Fabio Cannavaro recently. On the other hand, it looks like Celtic have already made an offer to Taylor but have an obstacle to overcome.

It looks like there is a gap between what Taylor has been offered by Celtic and what he is looking for from the club. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Mark Guidi said on The Go Radio Football Show:

"Maybe having seen the reception he got from the Celtic supporters on Saturday, he’s clearly a very popular member of the squad.

“He’s a good guy around the dressing room, good guy around the training ground. He got his family, his young family, involved on Saturday.

“Maybe he’ll just think, do you know what, if Celtic can come up with a bit… By all accounts, they are a good bit apart in terms of what he’s been offered and what he’s looking for.

“It’s a good bit, by all accounts, but it’s not insurmountable."

A lot of fans seem to have changed their opinion of Taylor staying in recent weeks. Especially on the back of Jeffrey Schlupp's shaky performances.

Yes, Taylor would have to play the role of a backup when Tierney arrives. But considering the Arsenal man's injury history, that could still leave him with plenty of playing time. So, staying might not be a bad idea.
