It is not easy managing Celtic. People might think that the Hoops always win and the manager does not need to have much about them to bring about this success, but this is not a true reflection of the situation. Yes, the Glasgow giants win frequently and that is why just one loss or even a draw puts pressure on the man in the Parkhead hot seat.

Not everybody can deal with this constant pressure. And there have been some who have failed to bring success to the club during their managerial stints with Celtic.

Tony Mowbray is the perfect example of a manager who failed at Celtic Park but has found moderate success elsewhere. He did not even last a single season in the Parkhead job.

Since then, he has done quite well down south. His last role was at Birmingham City. And bookmakers have made him the favourite for the Cardiff City job.

It is worth pointing out that while bookmakers have placed Mowbray as the favourite, it is unclear whether he is ready to make a return to management. His time at Birmingham City had been short and had ended because he needed to take medical leave.

It is believed that he has been recovering and is eyeing an eventual return to the dugout. Is he ready to do that now though and be involved in a potential relegation struggle?

Also, one cannot ignore the fact that Cardiff City have been doing particularly well under the management of Omer Riza, who is the interim boss right now. They won 5-0 in their most recent game, a rare feat for a team in the relegation zone.

Up until that point, they had only scored four league goals in total this season. A clear sign of the improvement they have made in recent weeks.
