Falkirk frontman Jacob Murrell has been speaking ahead of his side's big home clash with Celtic on Sunday. The Bairns have enjoyed a solid start to the season, and they are currently in sixth place after beating Aberdeen away from home during the week.

Celtic are coming off a draw with Dundee United on Wednesday night, but they have generally been ultra-consistent in the league, only failing to win two of their nine games so far, and only one of those was a defeat.

The Bhoys have had their problems in Europe, but more often than not, they have been too dangerous offensively for their Scottish opponents to keep up.

Martin O'Neill does have dangerous attackers aplenty at his disposal, and it's clear the way to beat Celtic is to defend well and then expose their midfield, where they are lacking in strength.

Falkirk striker Murell is hoping he can do some damage having scored five goals in his first nine league games this season.

"It's going to be a really tough game against Celtic, but we have the advantage of being at home on our own turf with our fans behind us," the American told Sky Sports. "They've been incredible all season and we'll need that support again at the weekend.

"We know how dangerous Celtic are going forward, but I do think there will be spaces for us to exploit and opportunities to score goals. At the same time, we need to be disciplined and secure defensively, and make sure we don't leave too many gaps for their dangerous players to hurt us."

Asked about Falkirk's improvements, he added: "It's been a really good month, a mature month. We've grown as a team and we've grown as a group. Now we're looking to build on that against Celtic.

"You mentioned Falkirk getting into good positions in games and then losing late goals. I think we've rewritten the script. Earlier in the season we were conceding late goals, and we probably weren't as clinical with our chances as we could have been during my first month here.

"I think we've turned that around this month. We've been really clinical, we've taken our chances and we've seen games out really well. The substitutes were incredible in the last game. In the final few minutes, we managed the game really well from Aberdeen corners and throw-ins and saw it out professionally."

Celtic will be favourites here, but they will have to battle heavy legs, with this being their seventh game in just three weeks, and there are two more to play next week.
