Another campaign has come and gone. Time sure does fly. There might only be a few games left this season but Celtic still have a lot to play for, that is for sure. The Hoops need just one more point to seal another Premiership title win, which will be their fourth on the trot. On the other hand, they will next face St Johnstone in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park.
If Celtic are able to win both those competitions, they will be treble winners again. It will be their sixth one in nine seasons. The last manager to bring all three domestic trophies to Parkhead was Ange Postecoglou.
Postecoglou would decide to leave the club days later, as he ended up joining Tottenham Hotspur. It looks like his time at the London club might be close to an end as well.
Tottenham Hotspur have had a terrible season and currently sit at 15th in the Premier League table. That is not good enough for a club still considered part of the traditional Big Six. And it looks like they already have options picked out to replace Postecoglou.
Fabrizio Romano's sack update will interest Celtic fans
Fabrizio Romano has named two concrete options for Tottenham Hotspur when it comes to possibly replacing Postecoglou. On the other hand, he has ruled out a rumoured target. The reliable journalist wrote in the GIVEMESPORT newsletter:
"I’m still hearing about Iraola and Silva as two concrete options. For Motta, no contacts at this stage."
It is worth mentioning that the Spurs are still in the Europa League. Postecoglou has a good track record of winning trophies in his second season with clubs. Will he be able to keep that streak alive?
That remains to be seen. If Tottenham do end up winning the Europa League, it would secure their place in the Champions League and might very well end up saving Postecoglou's job.
