A busy summer transfer window awaits for Celtic. The club are expected to freshen up the squad by bringing in new faces while also saying goodbye to some old ones. One of the areas where the Hoops might need to strengthen is on the flanks. The expectation is for Luis Palma to leave on a permanent basis, even if Olympiacos do not end up signing him.

Palma's exit will leave a gap on the wings. Celtic already tried to fill it in the winter and should again this summer. And one interesting name has been linked with a move to Parkhead in recent days.

We are talking about none other than Million Manhoef of Stoke City. It is believed that the Potters could be open to parting with him if the right offer arrives on their table. It remains unclear what that figure is, but there have been some suggestions that it could be around the £8 million mark.

On the other hand, Manhoef has been backed to succeed in the Scottish Premiership, if he did end up making the move to Celtic. While speaking to Football League World, Don Goodman said:

"Personally, if he went up to Celtic, I feel he has the quality to rip the league apart, we've seen it so many times when players from the Championship have gone up and really shone in the Scottish Premiership.

"It's about what Mark Robins wants and what Stoke want and how they view next season."

So far, Manhoef has shown a decent bit of quality while playing for Stoke City in the Championship for sure. He has earned comparisons with Xhardan Shaqiri for his style of play.

That being said, he needs to be a lot more consistent with his output than he is now. Otherwise, he would struggle to even get into a team like Celtic, where the expectation is to deliver in every game.

It remains to be seen if Celtic do indeed end up making a move for Manhoef this summer or not. But it certainly feels like a situation worth keeping an eye on.
