The transfer window is always like a game of dominoes. One move could end up having a wide-reaching impact on clubs that are not even involved in the deal. It looks like Manchester United are looking to pull one such deal that is going to have a negative impact on Brendan Rodgers' Celtic squad this summer.

Manchester United are coming off a season in which they finished 15th in the Premier League. The club do seem ready to back Ruben Amorim in this window though and are taking steps in that direction.

A deal for Matheus Cunha has already been reached. Now, as reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are again in direct club-to-club contact with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo.

A second proposal is ready after a £45m plus £10m offer was rejected. Mbeumo is clear. He wants the Manchester United move.

Mbeumo has been one of the best players in the Premier League in recent seasons. So, it is easy to understand why Manchester United want to sign him. Why is this bad news for Celtic though?

Well, reports in England have suggested that if Mbeumo leaves Brentford, the Bees see Nicolas Kuhn as the perfect replacement for him. And with the club established in the Premier League, it might be the sort of offer that is able to convince the German winger to leave Celtic this summer.

Let's see how this thing plays out over the coming days, and perhaps weeks. Celtic fans will want to see Kuhn stay unless a big offer comes in to sign him, in which case, an exit is pretty much inevitable if you play for the Hoops. The German winger's form did drop in the second half of the recent season.
