Celtic need to strengthen this summer. For that to happen, they might need to say goodbye to a few of their current players first in order to make room in their squad. One of the positions they need to improve is central defence. Auston Trusty has not really established himself since arriving from Sheffield United. On the other hand, Liam Scales just does not seem like a player who should be regularly starting for the Hoops.
One player who has put in some impressive displays for Celtic in recent times is Maik Nawrocki. Yet, he has not gotten enough chances from Brendan Rodgers.
When Nawrocki was kept at the club while Gustaf Lagerbielke was sent out on loan to FC Twente, many had seen it as a sign that he was going to get some playing time, having gotten a season to find his feet in Scotland. But that has not turned out to be the case and the time has come to reevaluate the situation.
As a result, it might be best for all parties to part ways. Clearly, he does not fit Rodgers' plans. But, at 24 years of age, he needs to be playing more regular football.
European club want to sign 24-year-old Celtic player
There is some interest in his signature as well. As reported by wSzczecinie.pl (via The Celtic Way), Pogon Szczecin are keen on Nawrocki in a loan capacity until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Will Nawrocki be making a return to Polish football at this point in his career? He was signed from Legia Warsaw.
To be honest, one would imagine that he can get a loan move to a better league, like Lagerbielke went to the Eredivisie last summer. Nawrocki certainly has shown that he has potential, doing well whenever given a chance. Unfortunately, those have been few and far between.
