There is only a little over a week left in the summer transfer window and Celtic still have a lot of work left to do. Reports coming out of Belgium have suggested that personal terms have finally been agreed with Michel-Ange Balikwisha and that move might finally go through. There are plenty more areas in need of reinforcements though.
It remains to be seen if Celtic are successful in making the required additions to their squad in time. On the other hand, their current players continue to draw interest of clubs as well and there could be a few more exits on the horizon.
This weekend, Brendan Rodgers named a second-string team against Livingston, keeping the upcoming Champions League qualifier play-off second leg against Kairat in mind. But even then, they were able to get themselves a 3-0 win. Johnny Kenny was able to score for the Hoops on the day. But he is being linked with a summer exit as well.
As reported by Football League World, according to reports from Alan Nixon on Sunday morning, Bolton Wanderers are not giving up on their hopes of signing Kenny. The club are readying one final bid to bring the striker to England.
English club readying late summer bid for Celtic player
Earlier in the summer, it had been reported that Bolton Wanderers had made a failed bid for Kenny. Now, it appears that they are getting ready to make another attempt to try and sign him.
Of course, Celtic are light on options up front at this point in time. Adam Idah is struggling and the likes of Kenny and Shin Yamada have a role to play.
But, if Celtic are able to sign another striker before the summer transfer window closes, then that might change the situation. So, things are up in the air at the moment.
