A number of Celtic players appear to be on the radar of clubs down south and across Europe. It is believed that Greg Taylor is closing on a move to PAOK. There are question marks surrounding the future of Nicolas Kuhn as well, with the German winger wanted by Newcastle United and RB Leipzig. And there are a few others also being linked with exits.
Of course, English clubs will always have their eyes on rising Celtic talent. But even then, the latest transfer bid from down south seems to have come out of pretty much nowhere.
Celtic's forward depth is already questionable at this point in time. So, it is no surprise that the Hoops decided to turn it down.
As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic have turned down a £500,000 bid from Bolton Wanderers for Johnny Kenny. The opening offer was swiftly rejected by the Scottish club's chiefs and it remains to be seen whether the English League One side will come back with an improved proposal for the Irish striker.
English club make bid for Celtic striker out of nowhere
Kenny enjoyed a very positive loan spell at Shamrock Rovers. But since returning to Celtic, he has found game time much harder to come by.
Still, Kenny has both scored and assisted for Celtic in the limited chances that he has gotten from the club. Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him. It is unlikely that he will competing for a starting spot, or even the second striker role, next season.
It was always expected that Kenny would be sent out on another loan this summer. Especially following the arrival of Callum Osmand. But now, it looks like a permanent exit could be on the cards as well for the Irish striker.
