Six trebles in nine seasons. That is what Celtic will be aiming to achieve when they take on Aberdeen in the final of the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park. The Hoops booked their place in style with a 5-0 win over St Johnstone. On the other hand, the Rangers were not even involved this weekend, having seen their side lose to Queen's Park in the fifth round of the competition.

It has been another contrasting season for the two Glasgow teams. Celtic are on the verge of winning another treble. They are one point from securing a fourth consecutive Premiership crown and in the Scottish Cup final.

On the other hand, the Rangers fans will witness their side finish trophyless, again. The slim chances of doing something in the Europa League ended when they lost to Athletic Bilbao away at San Mames.

This has not been a rare instance either. By now, the Rangers fans must be used to seeing Celtic come out on top, and clearly, it is not something that they enjoy. They made that clear following the Scottish Cup semi-finals.

'Embarrassing' - Rangers fans meltdown as Celtic reach final

One Rangers fan wrote about the game between Celtic and St Johnstone: "These are the standard of teams going 2-0 up against us on a weekly basis, it’s embarrassing."

Another added: "I can't remember not watching a Scottish Cup Final since I was a kid growing up in the 80s, but I'm seriously considering body swerving it this time - hate seeing them win another treble."

It looks like he was not the only one anticipating another Celtic treble, as a third said: "It'll be a certain swerve this time for sure..they will stroll it same as today."

Of course, the Celtic players and coaching staff cannot afford to take anything for granted. Aberdeen are a very good team. We have seen that plenty of times this season. In fact, the Rangers are a team they have gotten the better of.

Celtic will be the clear favourites on the day of the final, but anything can happen in one-off games. Just a bad day at the office and the result could end up in Aberdeen's favour. That is something that the Hoops will need to avoid.

Fortunately, they are used to winning these games. So, one would expect the players and coaches to know that very well and prepare accordingly.
