Jose Mourinho is being linked with Celtic again, but the legendary manager doesn't seem destined for the Parkhead dugout.

We need to stop discussing Jose Mourinho to Celtic, because it just won't happen. The manager coming to Celtic at the end of the season isn't just unlikely, but we'd describe it as almost impossible.

Celtic are in the market for a new manager soon, and of course, the legendary manager's name was always going to come up. There's nothing wrong with having a little bit of hope, but people who are sure of Mourinho managing in Glasgow next season need to temper their expectations.

According to the BBC, Celtic have no plans to make Mourinho their next permanent manager. He is not considered one of the shortlisted candidates, with Portugal head coach Roberto Martinez currently leading the race.

With that being said, the race is very tight. Right now, no one, not even the Celtic board, knows who will be in the Parkhead dugout next season. The Hoops hierarchy probably has a top candidate in their head, but whether or not they'll be able to snatch them up is still unknown.

Mourinho to Celtic - box office, but unlikely

Although reports are saying Mourinho won't happen, that could end up changing. It would be the ultimate box office move, and to be fair, the manager didn't shut down the possibility of a move to either Glasgow side when asked before. This makes the panel on the Go Radio Football Show think there could be a chance.

On the show, they said:

"Jose doesn’t rule out. He came, as you know, just a year ago, playing Rangers. He was asked, "Would you come to Glasgow? Could you be at Ibrox?" Obviously, Barry [Ferguson] was the interim manager at that point. So, he doesn’t say no, does he?"

Mourinho is a serial winner, and there is no doubt that he would be able to bring success to Celtic. Despite being sacked from both Roma and Fenerbahce, he has been solid at Benfica, with his side sitting third in the league. In Europe, his side most recently pulled off an incredible victory over Real Madrid, with a last-minute goal scored by their goalkeeper securing the team's qualification to the next round.

Even if The Special One doesn't come to Celtic this time around, you really never know, and in the future, he could be sitting in the Parkhead dugout.

Right now, Celtic fans will be focusing on their upcoming fixture run rather than their next manager, with Martin O'Neill still leading the side to a potential title.
