Celtic captain Callum McGregor has given his glowing review of Martin O'Neill's two interim terms, branding the manager as "amazing."
Speaking in a club interview, McGregor said:
"He is brilliant. He is very honest, very down the line. He tells you when it is good and tells you when he wants more.
When you understand Celtic and understand what it is about, he gives you that feel to say the right thing at the right time. He has had an amazing impact on the players.
He is an amazing man-manager, and he is getting the best out of the group individually and collectively. He has been amazing over the two spells so far.
You can see that the boys are fighting for him. It is momentum now. You need to keep winning games, doing everything you can, training well, recovering well, and then when the games come, making sure that you win them. I am sure come Sunday the boys will be ready for it."
The captain has undoubtedly had a difficult time this season off the pitch, having had to work under three different managers.
O'Neill has been constantly motivating the players since coming in, and it's been fantastic to see the impact that the 73-year-old has had. He truly steadied the ship and put a struggling Celtic side right back in the title race.
The Bhoys stay strong
Celtic are now heading into one of the most difficult times of the season, with an intense fixture list where the Hoops will want to win every single game.
The intense run will start against Kilmarnock this weekend, before O'Neill's side go on to take on VfB Stuttgart and Rangers twice, with Hibernian, Aberdeen and Motherwell in between.
Celtic are competing in cup finals every single matchday, with one loss in the league meaning that they likely drop out of the title race.
If Celtic manages to win this title, the turmoil doesn't end, as a new manager will take the reins next season. We can only hope for another O'Neill rather than a Wilfried Nancy.
Portugal head coach Roberto Martinez currently leads the race, but things are tighter than ever. Anyone could still come into the Parkhead dugout, and only time will tell who it ends up being.
All we can hope for is a league title to end the season, but with the Hoops still in the running for three trophies, Celtic fans could have even more to cheer about come May.
