Celtic are always one of the busiest clubs in European football when it comes to transfer windows. That has pretty much been the case this summer as well, as the Hoops have been involved in both arrivals and departures on a consistent basis. And now, it looks like a Championship club have their eyes on not one but two of their players.
One of the issues that Celtic have increasingly faced in recent years is their inability to give ample opportunities to the club's youth academy standouts. As a result, sending them out on loan has been the only way to get them enough playing time.
Now, it looks like a Scottish Championship club have set their eyes on not one but two of Celtic's youngsters. Incidentally, Mark Wilson, who won four league titles while playing for the Hoops, is their head coach.
As reported by the Daily Record (via Glasgow Times), Wilson would like to take midfielder Kyle Ure on loan to boost his options. The second player wanted by the coach is goalkeeper Josh Clarke.
Championship club want to sign two Celtic players at once
Ure is a 19-year-old midfielder currently playing for the Celtic B Team. He is highly regarded but has not been able to break into the first-team picture under the management of Brendan Rodgers. So, going out on loan might be his best chance to catch the eye.
The second player is Clarke, who was part of the youth ranks at Chelsea and Bournemouth at one point in his career. He was highly rated when he arrived but it is very difficult to rise up the academy and become a starting goalkeeper for a club like Celtic.
So, all things considered, going out on loan might be the best step for both Ure and Clarke. Of course, it remains to be seen if these two moves materialise or not.
