Celtic want to sign winger dubbed 'new Angel Di Maria'

Celtic have a pretty good winger on the right flank right now in Nicolas Kuhn. The former Bayern Munich and Ajax talent was signed last winter from Rapid Vienna. After a somewhat slow start to life in Scotland, he has come into his own lately and has arguably been the Hoops' best player this season so far.

Yet, it looks like Celtic might be looking to add some competition in that area of the pitch. And they seemingly have their eyes on a Chilean international who has earned comparisons with Angel Di Maria.

Of course, Di Maria is one of the best players of his generation. He won and scored in both World Cup and Copa America finals. He was also man of the match in a Champions League final. So, it is definitely worth keeping an eye on a player being compared to the Argentine great.

As reported by TBR Football, Celtic and Rangers are interested in Dario Osorio but more recently some Premier League clubs have been watching too. Aston Villa, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Newcastle United have all monitored his progress at FC Midtjylland. There is also interest from France and Spain.

Osorio has been in fine form over his time at FC Midtjylland. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has scored 3 goals and provided an assist in 16 appearances this season so far.

It is worth pointing out that Osorio was even more effective last season. He had 10 goal contributions in 15 starts.

But that kind of inconsistency is to be expected from a 20-year-old player. The main thing is the talent and there is no question about that. Of course, he is not the only winger Celtic have been linked with lately. Bazoumana Toure is believed to be on their radar too.
