Celtic have faced their fair share of injuries this season already. The hope is that Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor will be back to full fitness after the international break. Alistair Johnston has been left out of Canada's games in order to give him a chance to recover from a back issue. And now, it looks like there is another issue to keep an eye on.

With the number of games increasing this season and leading to more fitness issues, we have seen plenty of players miss international duty. It is time to add James Forrest's name to that quickly growing list of names.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Forrest has now been ruled out for Scotland's upcoming two matches through injury. He was absent from their training session in Glasgow and it was hoped he had only missed out as a precaution. However, he has now been officially ruled out of the games against Croatia and Portugal.

Forrest has been an important part of Celtic's team this season. He is no longer a starter for the Hoops but has enjoyed a bit of a renaissance under the management of Brendan Rodgers, establishing himself as an impact substitute.

Forrest has made his way back into the Scotland setup in recent times. But unfortunately, he won't be able to take part in the next two games for the national team.

The nature of Forrest's injury or when it was picked up is still unclear. One can only hope that it is nothing serious and he is back in contention for Celtic after the international break.

That means that Anthony Ralston is the only remaining Celtic player who is part of the Scotland squad in this international break. Hopefully, he gets some game time.
