The left-back situation at Celtic has become one worth keeping an eye on. Kieran Tierney will arrive as a free agent when his deal with Arsenal expires this summer. But on the other hand, it appears that the Hoops could end up saying goodbye to both of their current options in the position. Greg Taylor is out of contract as well and no extension has been agreed yet. On the other hand, Jeffrey Schlupp will leave at the end of his loan spell, unless signed permanently.

There have been suggestions that Celtic are keen to keep either Taylor or Schlupp. But if both end up leaving, they might need to look towards the transfer market and try to sign another left-back this summer.

It looks like a Japanese left-back, already playing in Europe, has managed to catch the eye of Celtic with his performances this season. But Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in him.

As reported by Sponichi, Celtic have shown interest in Keita Kosugi. PSG have already been in contact behind the scenes. Atalanta are also interested in the Japanese left-back.

Kosugi currently plays for Djurgarden. It is rare for Japanese players to be playing in Europe at just 19 years of age. That just goes on to show his talent and ability.

Not only is Kosugi at the Swedish club, but he has also established himself as a key player for them. He started all but one of their games in the UEFA Conference League this season as they made it all the way to the semi-finals before losing at the hands of Chelsea. Overall, he has made 43 appearances for Djurgarden so far, scoring 5 goals and providing a couple of assists.

Kosugi is known for his speed and strength in one-on-one play. And while he has not featured for the Japanese national team yet, the call-up cannot be far away, especially if he gets his big move this summer.

Of course, Celtic cannot compete with a club like PSG, or even Atalanta, in terms of finances. But then, it is easy to get lost in the shuffle in teams like that. The Hoops could offer Kosugi the chance to play consistent football at the first-team level. While Tierney is going to be the starter, his injury history means that there will be a decent bit of playing time for the backup option as well.
