Celtic's lack of activity when it comes to making signings in the summer transfer window has left a lot of people frustrated. Brendan Rodgers might very well be amongst them, considering his recent comments in the media regarding his future. One thing is clear though, the Hoops need to be doing a lot better than they have so far.

It is almost unbelievable that they have not completed the signing of a winger yet despite knowing that Jota is going to be out injured for the rest of the year, while they also sanctioned the exits of Nicolas Kuhn and Luis Palma. Marco Tilio is expected to depart as well but that is being delayed due to the lack of options on the wings right now.

Yet, it looks like Celtic are willing to wait it out for the Champions League qualifiers. Of course, to many, that feels like the opposite of what they need to do.

As reported by Sacha Tavolieri, Michel-Ange Balikwisha is still a target for Celtic. They are likely to move forward in case of Champions League qualification.

A couple of weeks ago, it had looked like a move for Balikwisha was close. But now, it appears that Celtic are willing to wait. Of course, it is unclear how much of the reporting has been correct on this entire saga.

There is one thing that is for sure though. And it is that Celtic need to sign a winger or two before their Champions League qualifiers, not wait for the result before determining the targets they will go for.

The club have approached things in this manner in the past as well and oftentimes, it resulted in them missing out on Champions League football altogether. They need to learn from their past mistakes.
