Celtic are always on the lookout for the next big talents. In recent years, they have primarily focused on recognising youngsters from around the world, bringing them to Parkhead and hopefully developing them into top quality players who can then move on to other teams for significant transfer fees.

A lot of the time it does not work out. But when it does, Celtic end up developing players like Matt O'Riley, Kris Ajer, Jota, Odsonne Edouard and more.

One player Celtic, as well as the Rangers, have been linked with in recent times is Lennon Miller. The Motherwell youngster has been an absolute standout in Scotland since breaking into the first-team picture.

It is hard to believe that he is still just 18 years of age. Not only has Miller been successful in establishing himself as a regular starter for Motherwell but he has also captained the team on a few occasions, which just goes to show how highly he is rated and how far ahead he is when it comes to his development and leadership.

Celtic transfer target urged to reject Parkhead move

Unsurprisingly, Celtic are one of the teams who have been linked with a move for Miller. But as reported by Football Scotland, Mark Wilson told Gambling.com:

"I’m not sure if it would be [a good move for Lennon Miller to go to Celtic]. Lennon Miller at this stage probably needs to play as many games as he possibly can. Would he break into that Celtic team at the minute? I'm not sure. I'm not saying he's not got the talent to do it, he's an incredibly talented boy.

"I would like to see him get another half-season playing for Motherwell. The world's his oyster, he's going to be an incredible footballer, he is a very good footballer, but maybe staying where he is might do him the world of good for now."

Wilson can also see Miller succeeding if he did end up making the right move to England:

"Two standout young players that have moved from Scotland to clubs down south are Andy Robertson and John McGinn. Lennon Miller can be every bit as good as them, if he gets the right move and the right advice. His dad's a very knowledgeable person in football and keeps a level head, so I'm sure he'll advise him correctly."

Of course, there are genuine doubts as to whether Miller would be able to break into the Celtic first-team, if he did make the move to Parkhead. The Hoops are absolutely stacked right now when it comes to the middle of the park.

In fact, there are question marks over whether their club record signing, Arne Engels, should even be starting at the moment. Callum McGregor and Reo Hatate are automatic starters while Paulo Bernardo and Luke McCowan have also impressed whenever given the chance. Even Odin Thiago Holm, who has barely featured, was considered the next Martin Odegaard at one point in time. So, Miller would not simply be walking into the starting XI.
