Celtic fans have a lot to be happy about right now. It does look like the club are intent on strengthening Brendan Rodgers' squad this summer and are moving accordingly. Of course, the headline addition has been that of Kieran Tierney, a Premier League-level player arriving as a free agent in his prime. Other than that, Swesidh international Benjamin Nygren has also been brought in alongside Ross Doohan, Callum Osmand and Isaac English.

This does not mean that Celtic have been perfect in the transfer market so far. On the contrary, there are plenty of targets they look to set to miss out on as well. And it looks like another name is going to be added to that list.

As reported by The Athletic, Hull City are set to sign Louie Barry from Aston Villa in a £3.5 million deal. A substantial sell-on clause has been inserted and the move is expected to be finalised shortly.

Celtic had been heavily linked with Barry in the winter and some recent rumours had cropped up as well. But it looks like the Aston Villa man won't end up at Parkhead.

Back in the winter, Barry ended up signing an extension with Aston Villa after scoring 15 goals in 23 League One games away on loan in the first half of the season. He was then sent out on loan to Hull City.

Barry barely featured for Hull City, spending the majority of his time out injured. But it looks like he was still able to do enough to convince the club to sign him on a permanent basis.

It remains to be seen if Celtic make further additions in the forward areas. At the back, it looks like a signing is close to completion with Hayato Inamura expected to arrive.
