Celtic are now stepping up their summer transfer business, with deals starting to be struck after a disappointing opening few weeks of the window.
While the Bhoys' rivals moved quickly, Celtic were sluggish out of the blocks, and fans had to wait until July for the first deal to be struck. That deal was the £5.5million signing of striker Camilo Duran, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been brought back on a one-year deal.
More deals will follow, and as Celtic work to get their window together, we have rounded up all the latest transfer news surrounding the club.
Ernst sits out
Reported Celtic target Tjark Ernst is said to have sat out Hertha Berlin's recent pre-season friendly, and German outlet Bild say the decision was due to Ernst being expected to secure a transfer in the next couple of weeks.
The goalkeeper has been linked with Celtic, and it's reported that he is available for €5million, and Hertha are said to be progressing in talks with more than one club. It remains to be seen if Celtic are part of that equation.
The Hoops are in need of a new starting goalkeeper after Kasper Schmeichel retired at the end of the season. That vacant position will surely be seen as a priority by O'Neill given the importance of having a reliable stopper.
Saracchi's agent responds
Martin O'Neill said this week that not only wants to re-sign striker Kelechi Iheanacho, but he also wants to make loan defender Marcelo Saracchi a permanent Hoop.
It was reported that Celtic made a bid for Saracchi earlier in the window amid ongoing talks with Boca Juniors over a deal, but the player's agent, Marcelo Tejera, has now denied that claim. He simply said when speaking to CeltsAreHere: “Celtic FC never made an offer for Saracchi.”
Duran joins Celtic in Portugal
Celtic fans have been getting excited about images of new striker Camilo Duran training with the team in Portugal, which can be seen here.
Duran hasn't officially been signed yet, but it's only a matter of the paperwork going through, so he has been cleared to start working with his new teammates.
The Bhoys agreed to pay £5.5million to sign the Qarabag frontman who scored five goals in the Champions League last season. The deal was Celtic's first of the summer, and an important one given the worrying lack of depth Martin O'Neill has at the top of the pitch.
