Lennon Miller is being hailed as the next big thing in Scottish football. He is a regular in the middle of the park for Motherwell and has already captained the side on a few occasions despite being just 18 years of age, including in the recent League Cup semi-final against the Rangers. That has seen him being linked with clubs like Liverpool and Newcastle United. So, if Celtic want to sign the youngster, they might need to move quickly.

Celtic signed David Turnbull from Motherwell some years back for a transfer fee in the region of £3 million. That is the record for the Steelmen.

But this time around, they will look for a figure bigger than that, and perhaps understandably so. As reported by the Daily Mail, Motherwell will hold out for at least £4 million for Lennon Miller if Celtic and Rangers make their expected moves for him.

Of course, that is a bit lower than some figures that have been doing the rounds in recent days. There were some suggestions that Celtic were preparing a transfer bid north of £5 million, which would be a record between two Scottish clubs, to sign Miller in January.

Signing Miller in January and sending him back on loan to Motherwell might be a good idea for Celtic. There is expected to be a lot more interest in the summer and they would not be able to compete on a financial level if English clubs did come calling.

Miller seems to be an elite talent for sure. His performance, even in a recent defeat against Celtic, was phenomenal and caught the eye of many.

Celtic have often looked abroad when it comes to signing players. But Miller seems to be someone capable of developing into a starter for the Hoops.
