It is not a secret that Celtic fans want the club to show a bit more ambition in the transfer market and make some quality additions to Brendan Rodgers' squad this summer. A lot of people believe that this team is weaker than the one they had last season, and it is hard to argue with that. Key players like Nicolas Kuhn, Greg Taylor and more have left, which Jota is expected to miss the majority of the campaign through injury.
The uninspiring performance on Flag Day was further proof that the Hoops need to shake things up a bit. But as fans await signings, it looks like the club's focus continues to remain on exits.
Another Celtic youngster is heading out on loan. Considering how things have turned out in recent years, it is hard to imagine that his spell away from Parkhead is going to have much of an effect on his future first-team prospects.
As reported by Celtic FC B, Ben McPherson has joined Partick Thistle on a season-long loan. The Scottish Championship side have also announced the move.
Celtic make transfer announcement as fans await signings
McPherson has been highly rated while coming through the Celtic youth ranks. But considering the fact that he has not made his first-team debut at 21 years of age and is now heading out on another loan spell, it is safe to assume that he does not have much of a future at Parkhead.
He has been somewhat unlucky as well. The club have Alistair Johnston and Anthony Ralston as their two options at right-back, both full internationals. As a result, there has been little scope for McPherson to find a way into the team.
Sending McPherson out on loan is the right decision for sure. That being said, plenty of correct decisions need to be made in terms of incomings as well and soon.
