It will be very interesting to see whether Wilfried Nancy tries to bring in some familiar faces to Celtic, in order to help fast-track the implementation of his system at Parkhead, once the January transfer window opens. The Frenchman spent his entire managerial career in the MLS before his recent move to Glasgow.

In the past, when Celtic appointed Ange Postecoglou as manager, they used his knowledge of the J-League to great effect and signed some brilliant players from the Japanese top flight. Could they do the same with Nancy and the MLS?

We have already seen Celtic being linked with some of Columbus Crew's players. And now, they have been told that an Uruguayan international could be the ideal signing for them.

The Celtic Star have put forward the idea of the club signing Diego Rossi. An excerpt from a report from the outlet reads:

"We badly need a goalscorer and goal creator in our ranks, and in Rossi we would be getting both of those qualities. If we want to improve, then the Uruguayan is a player we should be all over."

Rossi has spent the majority of his career away from European football. He has played most of his football for the likes of Penarol, LAFC and now, Columbus Crew.

Rossi did have a spell at Fenerbahce though. So, he is not a complete stranger to European football by any means. He made 90 appearances for the Turkish club, scoring 10 goals and providing 20 assists in the process.

Rossi has represented Uruguayan national team on seven occasions at the international level, scoring a goal as well. Before that, he was a regular for them at a variety of youth levels as well.

At 27 years of age, he is only entering his prime years on the pitch and could be a great long-term signing for Celtic. And it is also worth mentioning that he has already played more than 100 games for Nancy.
