Celtic need to sign another striker. They have brought in Callum Osmand, who was a standout for Fulham at the youth and developmental levels, and even nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season. But he is unproven when it comes to the senior game. Also, there is some uncertainty around the futures of both Daizen Maeda and Johnny Kenny.

So, do not be surprised to see Celtic be linked with a variety of strikers over the coming days and weeks. In fact, it appears that a Napoli striker has cropped up on their radar.

The 21-year-old has never senior level football for Napoli though. As reported by Orazio Accomando, there is interest from Celtic in Giuseppe Ambrosino.

Ambrosino might not be a household name but he has played for Italy at multiple youth international levels. With them, he has a FIFA U20 World Cup runner-up and was in the UEFA U19 EURO Team of the Tournament. He has also spent loan stints at Como, Cittadella, Catanzaro and Frosinone so far.

Ambrosino might not have played a senior game for Napoli yet but he was an absolute standout at the U19 level, scoring 27 goals in 52 games. So far, we have not seen that goalscoring ability translate to the senior level.

It remains to be seen if Celtic's interest in Ambrosino leads to anywhere of substance. Often times, we have seen the Hoops be linked with players without any follow up.

As for the striker situation at the club right now, it is not terrible by any means. Maeda and Adam Idah combined for 53 goals after all. But with Jota out injured and Nicolas Kuhn leaving, the Japanese international might need to feature on the flank often, meaning the Hoops need to boost their options.
