There are certain positions where Celtic need to improve as soon as possible in this January transfer window. Now, it remains to be seen whether the Hoops will make those required moves or continue on the path that they are on. One of them would be bringing in a new goalkeeper to strengthen between the posts.

Celtic signed Kasper Schmeichel last summer, replacing the retiring Joe Hart with someone even older than him. And while the Danish international had made a bright start to life at Parkhead, things have gone south over time.

Schmeichel has been making a lot of mistakes lately. Viljami Sinisalo was given an opportunity in the game against Livingston but was not able to convince with his display either.

So, the only solution might be to bring in a new goalkeeper to strengthen their options between the posts. And 67 Hail Hail have put out a list of three, with one of the suggestions being Jonas Urbig of Bayern Munich.

Urbig is 22 years of age and currently on the books at Bayern Munich. He has made 17 appearances for the club so far.

He plays second fiddle to club icon Manuel Neuer though. So, perhaps the idea of regular football away on loan at Celtic for the second half of the season might not be the worst in the world.

A lot could depend on Bayern Munich's long-term plans for him as well. If they do not view him as the first-choice in the future, perhaps a permanent deal would not be out of the question either.

At the end of the day, it would be ideal if Celtic do end up signing a quality goalkeeper in the January window, whether it is Urbig or somebody else. Their current options in goal simply are not good enough.
