Despite the majority of the fanbase asking for Wilfried Nancy to be sacked after the defeat and toothless performance against Motherwell, Celtic have stuck with the manager. There might be no way back for the Frenchman, if the Hoops end up losing the upcoming Glasgow Derby against the Rangers, which is the most likely outcome considering what we have seen so far.

Whether Nancy remains the manager of the club or not, it is safe to say that the club will need to strengthen in the January transfer window. And one of the players they have been linked with is a 26-year-old Uruguayan international.

As reported by 67 Hail Hail, one player on the radar of Celtic is Uruguayan winger Nacho Laquintana. He has caught the eye of the Hoops, according to the press in Uruguay.

Laquintana is on the books of RB Bragantino right now. He has also represented the Uruguay national team on a couple of occasions, scoring one goal.

Laquintana is someone who could be a decent addition for Celtic, on paper. He is 26 years of age and entering his prime on the pitch.

That being said, there could be some drawbacks to the move as well. He is someone who has played all of his football in South America so far. So, making the move to Europe at this point in his career would be a bit of a challenge for sure and one that he will need to find a way to overcome.

For now, nothing is for sure. Celtic are being linked with new players pretty much every day. It is unclear who they are seriously interested in and which are just rumours that are floating around in the media rumour mill.
