Celtic have recently signed one Crystal Palace player, albeit only on loan until the end of the season. Jeffrey Schlupp arrived at Parkhead in the winter on a temporary basis and although some of his recent performances have been shaky, overall, he has made a positive contribution. Now, it looks like the Hoops have their sights set on another one of the Eagles' players.

In recent years, Celtic have faced a lot of problems trying to keep their best youngsters at the club. This time around, it looks like the Eagles are facing a similar issue and incidentally, the Hoops are looking to sign the player in question. They are not the only Glasgow club either, as the Rangers are also interested.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic and Rangers have joined the race to sign Crystal Palace’s Jesse Derry. Clubs across Europe have also contacted the England youth international after learning that he had rejected the offer of a professional contract at Selhurst Park.

Derry is set to leave Crystal Palace for a compensation fee this summer. Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to win the race to sign the talented winger.

Derry is very highly rated down south. He was Crystal Palace's U18s Player of the Season in the 23/24 campaign. And he has represented the England youth national team as well.

Of course, it is very clear that the race for his signature is going to be a tough one. Not only are the Rangers also looking to sign him but there are clubs around Europe as well. So, it remains to be seen if the Hoops are capable of coming out on top.

Derry is believed to be open to the idea of moving abroad. He is not someone who would be an immediate starter for Celtic but a project signing.
