Celtic need strengthening in a number of positions across the pitch. One of them is striker. The Hoops have two, who combined for 53 goals last season. Yet, there is uncertainty around the position. Why? Well, Daizen Maeda played the majority of the campaign on the wing. On the other hand, Adam Idah was largely a backup for most games.

So, do Celtic have an outright goalscorer right now, who will win them big games? They did lose two Glasgow Derbies and a Scottish Cup final in the second half of the season.

Celtic might be keeping an eye on the free agent market this summer. Quite a number of interesting strikers seem to be without a contract at the end of the campaign.

Glasgow World have put out an article on free agent strikers Celtic and Rangers could have a look at. One of them is Danish forward Emil Riis.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Riis. At 26 years of age, he is entering his prime years on the pitch and rarely do Celtic get players at that point in their careers.

Riis has been a regular in the Championship and scored 12 goals in the competition last season. So, he could be a decent backup option for Celtic, perhaps with the potential to push for a spot in the starting XI.

Of course, there have been no rumours linking Celtic with Riis at this point. So, there is a good chance that he is not even on their radar.

The likes of Mathias Kvistgaarden, David Strelec and a few others have been linked with Celtic quite a bit in recent times though. So, do not be surprised if the Hoops had an option up front this summer.
