The summer transfer window is always a busy period for clubs around not only Europe but the world. A lot of plates are spinning at the same time and it is not just Celtic's actions that will determine how successful they are over the coming weeks and months. What happens elsewhere is going to have an effect as well.
Celtic have already received one windfall as Jeremie Frimpong, who joined Liverpool. They were expected to receive another one as well.
Alexandro Bernabei left the club earlier this year. But he has already been linked with clubs like Sevilla and Real Betis. Celtic are believed to hold a sell-on clause in this instance as well.
Unfortunately, any move for Bernabei is now in doubt though. He has suffered an injury in Internacional's most recent game against Bahia and that could derail any potential move this summer.
Celtic windfall in doubt as player suffers serious injury
As reported by GZH (via Bolavip), the first exams did not bring good news. Bernabei is suspected of having suffered a grade III muscle injury, one of the most severe levels, which could keep him out of action until early August.
Of course, any injury is never good news. So, we would like to wish Bernabei well and hope that he recovers as soon as possible. It looks like he is expected to spend more than two months out of action.
One has to wonder what kind of effect this will end up having on any potential move this summer. Surely, clubs like Sevilla and Real Betis would not want to go after a player who is currently out injured. And if a transfer does not happen, there won't be any windfall for Celtic. So, let's wait and see how thing situation plays out from here.
