It is no secret that Celtic left themselves short in the striker department this summer. Going into the deadline day of the transfer window, the talk in the media was that the Hoops were looking to sign a couple of centre-forwards. But not only did they fail to bring in Kasper Dolberg, after a late move collapsed due to Ajax swooping in, but they were not able to sign any secondary option either.

Ultimately, Celtic signed Kelechi Iheanacho from the free agency pool after the summer transfer window ended. And it is safe to say that he was not on the club's transfer wishlist even 24 hours before that.

As for the second striker they were looking for, nobody has been signed yet. Some suggestions have been put out regarding the free agents available. The likes of Emmanuel Dennis and Patrick Bamford are still out there. But it is more likely that the Hoops will choose to wait until the winter before signing another centre-forward, if they do at all.

67 Hail Hail has recently put out a list of four strikers who should be on Celtic’s January 2026 transfer window wishlist. And one of the names on there is that of Jonas Wind.

Wind is currently at Wolfsburg. He has scored a combined 23 goals for them over the last previous two seasons. But his current contract runs out next summer.

So far, no extension has been agreed. As a result, he could be available on a cut-price deal in January, or could choose to sign a pre-contract as well.

Wind has been decent during his time with Wolfsburg. But his best football came while he was at FC Copenhagen. The Danish striker scored 46 goals and provided 25 assists in 114 appearances for the club.
