Wilfried Nancy has somehow remained in the Celtic job despite losing five of his seven games in charge of the club. It is probably due to the board not wanting to admit that they got the appointment completely wrong. So, the Frenchman is being given every chance possible to turn things around, although keeping him in the hot seat much longer could make the campaign unsalvagble for the Hoops.

One would imagine that the upcoming Glasgow Derby is make or break for Nancy. If he loses that, and still remains Celtic manager, then serious questions will need to be asked about the board and whether they have the club's best interests at heart or not. For now, we have not reached that point.

Nancy being sacked is a real possibility though. If it does happen, who could end up replacing him as Celtic manager?

Football Fancast have suggested that the best course of action may be for the Celtic board to part ways with Nancy, and to bring in a new head coach. Cardiff City boss Brian Barry-Murphy has been suggested as the answer.

That idea won't go down well with a large section of the fanbase. Celtic already appear to have made a significant error, bringing in someone inexperienced for a job of this magnitude. The pressure that comes with managing in Glasgow is unique and not everybody is cut out for the job.

That being said, Barry-Murphy might be better suited than Nancy ever was. He currently has Cardiff City sitting atop the League One table. Before this, he was coaching the Manchester City EDS.

The best-case scenario right now would be to bring in an experienced manager to take over from Nancy. But considering the club were linked with Barry-Murphy not too long ago, it would not be a surprise if he is on the radar as well.
