With a few days left in the winter transfer window, Celtic need to move quickly if they want to get a few deals over the line. For the past few days, most of the talk had been about the club looking to sign another striker after bringing in Tomas Cvancara on loan from Borussia Monchengladbach. The focus seems to have shifted over the last 24 hours though, as another winger might now be atop the priority list.
Celtic did sign a couple of wingers last summer. Sebastian Tounekti started brilliantly but has completely lost his form along the way. On the other hand, Michel-Ange Balikwisha has never looked good enough for the Hoops from the very start.
Celtic have not been helped by the fact that Jota is yet to recover from his long-term injury picked up last season. In fact, he is not expected to feature at all in the 25/26 campaign.
As a result, the club seem to be looking to strengthen their options on the flanks this winter. And as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Celtic have made Frosinone an offer for Fares Ghedjemis. The two clubs are negotiating.
Celtic submit offer for winger, negotiations have started
Ghedjemis has been a standout performer for Frosinone this season. In 21 league appearances, he has scored 8 goals and provided a couple of assists as well. Also, at 23 years of age, he is only expected to get better from here.
At the same time though, one cannot overlook the fact that Ghedjemis has spent most of his career playing in the lower leagues of France and Italy. So, one has to question whether he will be able to make the adjustment to life at Celtic, where the expectation is to win pretty much every game they take part in.
It is worth mentioning that Ghedjemis is not the only winger Celtic have been linked with over the last few days. Damir Redzic is another one who seems to be on their radar, and some reports even suggest that talks are being held over signing him before deadline day.
