Celtic have now had another great set of results. They were a class apart against Ross County. The Hoops scored five goals in the first half itself and many must have been curious whether they could reach double digits on the day. They did not and it ended in a comfortable 5-0 win for Brendan Rodgers' side. On the other hand, Aberdeen have dropped five points in their last two games to fall behind in the title race after keeping up for so long.
The next game will be a tough test for Celtic though. They will face Aberdeen away at Pittodrie Stadium. The Rangers lost their not too long ago.
So, Celtic cannot afford to take that task lightly. And one player must start after his display this weekend against Ross County.
The player we are talking about is Luke McCowan. The former Dundee FC midfielder got a rare start on the day and made the most of the opportunity. He scored once while providing three assists in the 5-0 win. Dropping him back to the bench after that masterclass would be a mistake.
Celtic starter must be dropped for Aberdeen game
If McCowan were to start against Aberdeen, who would be the one dropping out from Celtic's midfield? There is an easy answer to that question as well.
Arne Engels would be the one dropping down to the bench. Unfortunately, the Celtic record signing has not done enough in his recent performances. There have been good performances here and there but also ones in which he has not made much of an impact.
On the other hand, McCowan looks like a player who is very capable of impacting a match, both with goals and assists. So, he deserves a run of games in the team to show what he is capable of as a starter.
