Celtic star Sebastian Tounekti has provided some insight on the club's newest signing. The Bhoys splurged £11million plus add-ons to sign goalscorer Kasper Hogh from Bodo/Glimt, rounding off their front line following the earlier summer signing of Camilo Duran.
The Hoops have had a slow summer transfer window, but they are now looking to ramp up their efforts to improve their squad, with time running out before the start of the new season, on Monday night, and the end of the transfer window, at the start of September.
Hogh is a statement deal, and it could end up being the club's record signing if add-ons are met, with the initial fee alone putting him third on the list of most expensive signings. Add-ons could take him above Arne Engels and Jota, whose initial fees were a little more.
What Celtic are getting in Hogh
According to Celtic star Sebastian Tounekti, who used to play for Bodo/Glimt and still follows the Norwegian club, Celtic are getting a real fox in the box in Hogh. He told STV: "You can expect a guy who knows how to score a goal.
"He will always be in the box. He is always in the box and in the right spaces. I think it is important that we bring a player with quality and we’ve done that. "He has proved that in Bodo/Glimt for many years now, but also in the Europa and Champions League."
Tounekti added: "I think as a winger, it is really nice to have people in the box that if you give them some balls, they will score. I think the other wingers, and I will try to feed him as much as possible.
"We are really looking forward to the season, because I think we can achieve amazing things."
Celtic now have a pretty impressive front line between Hogh and Duran, who have five goals each in the Champions League over the last year, and Hogh has been in fine form in the league, scoring seven times in the ongoing Norwegian season. Meanwhile, Duran has scored three in three games during Celtic's pre-season, already hitting the ground running.
Martin O'Neill will also be able to call upon Callum Osmand for depth, with the young forward having proven himself useful last season, including a goal in that final day Hearts win. Those are likely the three strikers O'Neill will rely upon, with Johnny Kenny now likely to be sold.
