Over the past 24 hours, Celtic have been linked with three different wingers. It is believed that they have made a failed bid for Nilson Angula of Anderlecht while also holding discussions for both Michel-Ange Balikwisha of Royal Antwerp and Sondre Orjasaeter of Sarpsborg 08. It is very clear that the Hoops want to strengthen on the wing and now, a fourth name has emerged.

Interestingly, this is someone Brendan Rodgers will know well, as he had him in his squad at Leicester City for a while. He never ended up making an appearance under the management of the Northern Irishman though.

Incidentally, Celtic were also linked with him back in the summer of 2019. Back then, a move did not materialise. Could it happen six years later?

As reported by Africafoot, Fousseni Diabate is being courted by Celtic. He is also wanted by Paris FC, as they make their return to Ligue 1.

Diabate is not the profile of player that Celtic usually go for. He is 29 years of age and has made 12 appearances for the Mali national team so far. He had a solid 24/25 campaign, scoring 8 goals and providing 9 assists in 40 appearances for Lausanne-Sport.

It is worth mentioning that Celtic have been linked with a few players from Lausanne-Sport in recent years. So, Diabate could have easily caught their eye during scouting missions. Now, it remains to be seen if they follow up their interest with an offer to sign the Malian international.

Celtic fans will want to see some big signings be made this summer. Does Diabate fall under that category? The answer is no. But he is not a project signing either, having played all over Europe and at 29, he is in his prime.
