Celtic have already completed five signings this summer. Now, it looks like the sixth one is not far away. There are a number of positions where the Hoops are still looking to strengthen in this transfer window. The positive news is, they seem to have multiple targets. So, even though Isak Jansson looks set to join Nice, the Scottish champions have alternatives picked out already and adjusting plans should not be too difficult.

The same thing can be said about their plans to sign a striker as well. The Hoops have already brought in Callum Osmand from Fulham but it looks like they have other centre-forwards on their radar as well. In fact, one move might not be far away from completion.

As reported by Hochi, Kawasaki Frontale forward Shin Yamada is set to transfer to Celtic after the E-1 Championship. The Scottish champions are close to acquiring Japan national team striker.

The E-1 Championship is set to run for another week. It is there that Yamada made his debut for the Japan national team, coming off the bench against Hong Kong.

Yamada has not been in great form this season, only scoring two goals in the J-League. As a result, eyebrows have been raised at Celtic's interest in the striker.

That being said, one cannot forget that Yamada did score 19 goals in the previous campaign. So, the talent is clearly there and it appears that Celtic are banking on that rather than his bad run of form.

Let's see what the future holds and how accurate these recent rumours are. It is worth pointing out that Yamada is not the only striker Celtic have been linked with lately. Giuseppe Ambrosino of Napoli seems to be on the radar of the Scottish champions as well.
