Celtic are set for a major boost going into next season as Marcelo Saracchi's agent has confirmed that a meeting with the Hoops is scheduled soon, with the aim of securing a permanent move for the player.
It's set to be a big summer for the Celts, with many players likely to leave. There will also be a lot of work done in the transfer market (or so we can hope), and one player supporters are keen to bring to the club is Saracchi.
The left-back has challenged Kieran Tierney for his spot this season, and when given the chance, he has impressed. There is now a major debate over who should start in the split.
The player is only here on loan, but the club are keen to turn it into a permanent transfer. Martin O'Neill has expressed before that he thinks it would be a brilliant idea.
In February, O'Neill said: "I think they will [bring Saracchi to the club permanently]. I think they should do.
"Saracchi scored the goal for us. He's a strange wee character. He hasn't a clue what I'm saying to him. Not a clue! I mean, I could be saying anything to him, and he would still say yes to it. I think the club should be looking at something like that."
The Bhoys really want him as an option next season, so we'll have to hope that the club can get the deal over the line.
Bringing in Saracchi is a major positive
Bringing Saracchi to the club on a permanent basis is great because not only is he a brilliant option, but it also means that Celtic can focus their attention elsewhere.
There are plenty of positions on the pitch that need new players in them, most notably, striker. The No. 9 spot has been the Hoops' biggest problem this season, with no one able to bag goals on a regular basis.
The club will be hoping to correct that in the summer, and rumour has it that Australia captain Maty Ryan could soon be on his way to Glasgow to take the goalkeeper spot from Viljami Sinisalo.
There is work being done, but whether it will be enough is another question. If we can bring in Saracchi, then potentially Julian Araujo, that is both fullback spots filled. They are key to how Celtic play their football, so going into the next campaign with solid options at both sides would be a major positive.
