Sometimes, it is the right step for all parties involved to part ways. There are plenty of players at Celtic right now who are not getting much playing time and are clearly not key parts of Brendan Rodgers' plans. And it would not come as a major surprise if a few of them end up departing Parkhead in the January transfer window.
One of the players who seems most likely to leave is Luis Palma. Signed from Aris FC last year, the Honduran had made a bright start to life at Celtic Park and had seemed like someone who was capable of filling the boots of Jota, who had left for Al-Ittihad in that same window.
Unfortunately, Palma's early form faded away as the season progressed and he would eventually lose his place in the team. This season, he has barely featured.
So, Palma leaving this winter would be the right step. But of course, Celtic would want to see their transfer valuation met.
Celtic reject transfer offers for €4 million player
As reported by El Heraldo (via The Celtic Way), the club have placed a €4 million evaluation on Palma's transfer. The Scottish champions have already knocked back bids from clubs in Germany and France with Spanish teams also believed to be keeping tabs on the situation.
Palma is someone who has done well at times while away with the Honduran national team. But that has not resulted in him getting more chances when it comes to Celtic.
That being said, James Forrest is currently out injured. As a result, it is not hard to see why the club might not be in a hurry to part ways with Palma. On the other hand, it is also believed that the Hoops are looking to sign another winger this winter transfer window.
