Celtic ready to make four signings but on one condition

It appears that Celtic are willing to make four more signings in this summer window but on one condition.

Celtic fans are waiting for some more signings to be made. Unfortunately, so far, they have not strengthened the squad enough. Kieran Tierney will be an incredible addition if he can remain fit. Benjamin Nygren looks like an excellent signing as well. But beyond that, there does not seem to be another first-team-ready player that has been brought in this summer.

On the other hand, we have seen players like Kyogo, Greg Taylor, Nicolas Kuhn, Luis Palma, Gustaf Lagerbielke, Maik Nawrocki and more leave this year. And most of them have not really been replaced. As a result, this squad is weaker now than it was a year ago at this point in time.

Reinforcements are needed in multiple areas of the pitch. And Celtic seem willing to make multiple, but on one condition.

As reported by Football Insider, Celtic will bring in up to four new signings before the end of the ongoing summer transfer window if they qualify for the Champions League group phase. But if they fail to make it, we are likely to see less activity.

That just goes on to show the importance of the upcoming Champions League play-off tie between Celtic and Kairat Almaty. It will end up having an impact on the business that the Scottish champions do this summer. Perhaps it has always been the plan to wait and see how things turn out in Europe, before making major moves.

Of course, the Hoops have to be considered favourites against Kairat Almaty. That being said, it would be a mistake to take the Kazakh side lightly. They have made it this far for a reason.

In the past, we have seen Celtic struggle to get past sides in Champions League qualifiers, even when they are taking on heavy underdogs. That is the reason why they were absent from the competition for so many years. Hopefully, Brendan Rodgers will be able to guide them to victory and the group phase.
