It looks like the Celtic hero is now in advanced talks to join the French Ligue 1 club in a major U-turn.

Right now, the transfer window is starting to get a bit boring if you are waiting for Celtic to make signings. The Hoops have moved at a glacial pace in recent weeks and the only addition has been that of Jahmai Simpson-Pusey, a 19-year-old Manchester City centre-back who has been brought in on a straight loan without any clauses.

It is unlikely that any further additions will be made before the club's Champions League qualifiers either. But on the other hand, Celtic's former players continue to remain active in the transfer market.

Jeremie Frimpong's move to Liverpool has already earned the club a windfall this summer. Matt O'Riley could be on his way to Juventus as well, if they can clear up space in their squad. And now, it appears that Odsonne Edouard could be on his way back to France out of nowhere.

A couple of weeks back, there had been reports that Edouard was on the verge of joining Girona. But then, there was no further update on that, and now, it appears that it is OGC Nice, who are closer to signing the striker.

As reported by Foot Mercato, Nice are advancing and have been making inroads with Crystal Palace in recent days regarding Edouard. The Frenchman, who already turned down Girona this summer, wants to join the Ligue 1 club.

Edouard was a prolific striker during his time at Celtic but has found the going much tougher down in England. In his four years since leaving, he has managed to score a combined 21 goals. In three of his four seasons with the Hoops, he scored more.

Let's see what the future holds for Edouard. It is very clear that it is not working out for him at Crystal Palace. So, it might be time for a change of scenery and a move to France might be just what he needs.
