One of the key reasons behind the fan dissatisfaction this season has been the supporters' desire to bring about change to how things have been run at Celtic over the past few years and see some key figures depart. Until now, that has not happened. But it is safe to say that these are unprecedented times, especially after Brendan Rodgers' resignation.

There is more pressure now on Dermot Desmond than ever before. In the past, most of the criticism has been aimed at the likes of Peter Lawwell and Michael Nicholson. But that has changed lately, especially after that statement following Rodgers' exit.

Interestingly, changes could be on the way. As reported by Celtic Gossip, there are rumours that Desmond is behind moves to realign the board. Nicholson could be off to Europe, with Lawwell retiring again.

At this point, this is speculation and should be taken as such. That being said, over the past few weeks, we have seen plenty of rumours surrounding the club being confirmed officially. So, it would not come as any surprise if there is a lot of truth behind these as well.

Of course, some board members leaving would not be the solution to Celtic's problems. The real answer lies in how the club is run.

Otherwise, if new faces arrive and continue to do the same things, then nothing really will have been achieved. So, it remains to be seen how things play out from here.

It is also worth mentioning that whether these changes happen or not, the fans should be fully behind the team in the weeks to come. This is a difficult time for them for sure, but they produced a brilliant performance to win 4-0 at the weekend against Falkirk in Martin O'Neill's return game. Hopefully, it was a sign of things to come. Of course, much tougher tests lie ahead, with the next one being against the Rangers in the semi-final of the Scottish League Cup.
