Celtic pulled off a masterstroke when they agreed a pre-contract agreement with Kieran Tierney. The Scotsman's contract at Arsenal runs out this summer, meaning he will return to his boyhood club as a free agent. While injuries have surely taken their toll over the years, at 27, he should still have a decent bit of football left in the tank and there is a good chance that that he'll retire at Parkhead someday.

Tierney is not the only academy graduate Celtic are bringing back this summer either. They are ready to add a former goalkeeper to their ranks as well.

As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic are poised to re-sign Ross Doohan. He is out of contract at Aberdeen and is now expected to rejoin his former club.

There is an expectation that Scott Bain will leave the club this summer. So, the Hoops will need someone to fill their European quota. It looks like Doohan is set to be that man, having come through the club's academy ranks.

The arrival of Doohan is not expected to have much of an impact on the Celtic first-team. Just look at the role that Bain has played over the years. It is going to be something similar.

Celtic already have two goalkeepers ahead in the form of Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo. Even then, it is good to see a former player make his return to Parkhead. Of course, that is if a move does end up going through this summer.

Ultimately, Doohan does not have a starting role at Aberdeen either. He has played most of his first-team football in the lower leagues and at 27 years of age, it is hard to imagine that he is suddenly going to get the role of a starter for a top division side.

So, perhaps Doohan has decided that he is content to be a backup at a club like Celtic. He will have a stable spot for years to come and be part of a winning project as well.
