It would be safe to say that this was a nightmare summer transfer window for Celtic. One worst-case scenario after another ended up turning true for the Hoops and by the end of it, the overwhelming feeling was disappointment. That is not a position you ever want to be in and yet, here we are, hoping that Brendan Rodgers' side can somehow continue to deliver results on the pitch.

A lot of things Celtic did in the summer made absolutely no sense. On top of that list was the decision to let Adam Idah join Swansea City on deadline day and then failing to secure the signature of a replacement.

A move for Kasper Dolberg fell through after the Hoops let things drag on during negotiations and ultimately allowed Ajax to swoop in at the last minute. David Datro Fofana is believed to have turned down the chance to move to Celtic as well. But it looks like there is another striker, who the club had tried to sign this summer and failed.

As reported by 67 Hail Hail, Graeme Bailey said that Celtic were one of the clubs that made an enquiry for Leicester City forward Patson Daka. The Foxes were holding out for a transfer fee in the region of £10m for the striker, but nobody came close to their valuation. Although it was unclear if the Hoops did table an offer, wages proved to be a stumbling block

So Daka is another striker that Celtic tried and failed to sign this summer. Another name that you can add to that list.

Unfortunately, Celtic have been terrible in recent times when it comes to negotiations. They often allow things to drag on and it leads nowhere.

Now, all we can do is wait until January for new additions. But one has to wonder if they will indeed be made then or not.
