Celtic are reportedly interested in Motherwell goalkeeper Calum Ward, but they aren't the only club keen on his services.
The shot-stopper's side has conceded the second fewest goals in the Scottish Premiership this season, and he has 20 clean sheets from 38 games in all competitions. He has been named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year, and now, he is being linked with a move to Parkhead.
According to Christopher Reidy from Sky Sports, Celtic, English League One side Wycombe Wanderers, and Polish top-flight outfit Jagiellonia Bialystok are all interested in the 25-year-old.
However, Motherwell have the ball in their court as the goalkeeper signed a new deal in December. He is set to remain at the club until the summer of 2027, and the club could command a decent fee for him.
Celtic have the money and could bag him for under a million, but due to his performances, there is a chance they could be demanding more for him.
Celtic are keen on a new goalkeeper
Celtic are desperate for a new goalkeeper after a potentially career-ending injury to Kasper Schmeichel last month. Viljami Sinisalo has taken on the mantle well, but the club want another option.
One player who we have our eye on is Australia national team captain Maty Ryan. The 34-year-old has been shortlisted by both the Hoops and Club Brugge, and with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, it seems like a plausible option.
However, some would argue that Sinisalo should be given the chance to take the starting spot into next season. He has done incredibly well since coming in, and according to the player, he was actually planned to be given more game time this season anyway before managerial changes threw that out of the window.
He hasn't looked out of place, and it would be harsh to take the gloves away from him. It will be up to the next manager if a new goalkeeper is brought in, and considering we don't have any idea who is actually up for the job, we may need to wait a while to find out the truth.
Whatever happens, we need to keep Sinisalo at the club. He is a very good option, and even if we decide to replace him as a starter, having him on the bench is key. He's done a smashing job this season and is still pushing us towards two trophies. Fingers crossed that we'll end the season with both.
