While a lot has been made about signings Celtic could potentially make this summer, it will be equally important for the club to keep the core of this team together. There is a reason that the Hoops have won trophies on a consistent basis year after year. While it is always important to look to improve, one also has to make sure that too many changes are not made at the same time.

Unfortunately, there are question marks about Celtic's stability when it comes to the left-back position. Kieran Tierney will be returning to Parkhead this summer, having agreed a pre-contract earlier in the season.

On the other hand, it looks very likely that Greg Taylor will leave at the end of his contract. Otherwise, he surely would have agreed an extension by now.

There have been rumours that the club are interested in keeping Jeffrey Schlupp as well. It was recently announced by Crystal Palace that he will leave the Eagles this summer, meaning the veteran is available as a free agent. Could Celtic look to repeat their Aaron Mooy and Kasper Schmeichel trick?

It remains to be seen if Celtic end up pushing to sign Schlupp this summer. He appears to be drawing a decent bit of interest from down south though.

As reported by The Scotsman, Queens Park Rangers and Millwall are weighing up a move. Rumours suggest that Coventry City could revive their interest in the player as well.

Schlupp's playing time at Celtic has been restricted in recent weeks. But as a backup option to someone like Tierney, he could be perfect. At his best, he has proven himself to be a very solid left-back, as we saw at the Allianz Arena against Bayern Munich. Of course, with plenty of options around, he might take his time before making any future decision.
